Ⅰ. Are lithium batteries dangerous goods?

Yes. Lithium batteries are classified as Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods under international and national transportation regulations (such as the IATA DGR for air transport).
They are considered hazardous material (“hazmat”) for shipping because they pose a risk of:

Short Circuit: Which can lead to overheating.
Fire: If damaged, defective, or improperly packaged, they can catch fire.
Explosion: A fire can lead to a rapid release of energy.

Consequently, their shipment is strictly governed by specific packaging, labeling, documentation, and quantity restrictions based on the mode of transport (air, sea, ground).

Ⅱ. Why is the shipping cost for lithium batteries higher?

Limited Carrier Options & Segregation: Fewer carriers accept lithium batteries, and they often must be stored separately, adding logistical complexity.

Ship from Europe: All orders will be delivered to your door by local logistic service, such as DPD, GLS, DHL etc, from a local Europe Warehouse. It takes 1-2 business days for order processing time and 5~7 business days for delivery.
